Welcome to LearningWorks at Blake

LearningWorks offers a tuition-free academic enrichment program to highly motivated, traditionally underserved students enrolled in Minneapolis Public Schools, preparing them to enter rigorous high school programs. High school and college students gain insight into careers in education through teaching positions in the program.

We invite you to explore this site and learn more about the program, including our students, our teachers, and our community.

LW teachers are talented high school and college student from around the country. They are bright, passionate, creative, and intrigued by learning and teaching - even if they are not necessarily planning to become teachers professionally.
  2. LW teachers are ALL high school and college undergrads.
All teachers are passionate about learning and work closely together as equals and colleagues.
  3. LW teachers are active learners.
Most of our teachers have never taught before, but are excited to understand learning inside and outside the classroom.
  4. LW teachers have diverse backgrounds.
Many LW graduates have come back to the program to teach either in the summer or during the school year. Our teachers come from all over the country, as well as right from Minneapolis and surrounding areas.
